What Do the Adverts Know Anyway?
Helen Finds the Reality Much better than TV's Fiction.

If you think working in a contact centre is like those hen houses in the TV adverts, think again. Helen Atkins works at Tesco's Customer Service Centre in Cardiff and knows the reality is much more interesting and rewarding.

Helen joined Tesco last year as a Customer Service Adviser and soon realised that she had the chance of a much more varied job than she first thought. After training, she was supported by her Team Leader and her colleagues to develop her skills and business knowledge and soon found she was really enjoying helping her customers. As her experience grew, she even found it rewarding when she could turn around a more tricky situation get a positive solution for her customer.

Sam Thomas is a Contact Centre Manager for the British Gas Cardiff office and has worked for the company for 11 years. Sam gives us an insight into how she has developed her career, and her growing role and responsibilities.
