Fourth Plinth

Blackhorse takes up the challenge

Blackhorse

This summer, sculptor Antony Gormley invited the public to help create an astonishing living monument. He asked people of the UK to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, a space normally reserved for statues of Kings and Generals. They were to become an image of themselves, and a representation of the whole of humanity.

Every hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days without a break, a different person will make the Plinth their own. Those selected, you used thier time on the plinth as they liked. One & Other was open to anyone and everyone from any corner of the UK.

Blackhorse Finance’s Jason Kilby who works as a Resource Analyst, couldn’t wait to take up this challenge and set about applying. What an achievement it was to be chosen amongst thousands (33,523 to be exact) of other hopefuls to be part of this unique opportunity.

Here Jason tells us his story…

About me My story

I turned 40 this year and although age is just a number, this particular number is one to take notice of. I'm always up to do something a little bit different and this project certainly comes under that category. It's a unique opportunity and one that I never thought I'd get a chance to do. I'm was a little bit nervous and very excited about the whole thing.

I'm an avid reader and an active member of www.Bookcrossing.com. This is my opportunity to let the world know about my favourite site and to distribute some books to the World in a very public way. I hope that those books will travel and find recipients who enjoy them.
