Admiral Stress Down Day

Admiral Stress Down Day

Admiral staff rolled into work wearing their slippers to support Samaritan’s Stress Down Day, Friday 4th February.

Managers walked the floors wearing the charity’s bright green, fluffy footwear to collect money and hand out raffle tickets to everyone wearing slippers or pyjamas. Staff could win prizes including a day off work.

Ceri Assiratti, Admiral People Services Manager, said, “Wearing slippers in work is a fun way to raise awareness about a very serious issue.

“Stress can affect people in many different ways, and the money we’ve raised will help the Samaritans maintain their 24-hour helpline.

“Samaritans is Admiral’s charity partner for 2011, and this is just one of many events we’ll be holding to help support them.”

Games, yoga and shoulder massages were also on offer to highlight different ways of combating stress.

Rachel Kirby-Rider, Director of Fundraising at Samaritans, said, “We’re delighted that Admiral’s staff have wholeheartedly got behind today’s Stress Down Day activities, making this whole event a great day for everyone. The vital funds raised will help us answer more calls from people in distress.

“We’ve been Admiral’s chosen charity for a year now and the partnership has been a real success. We are looking forward to continuing our work together this year as every penny really does make a difference.”
