In July Admiral Group was short listed for an award based on its “outstanding” contribution to the European economy.
The Group was one of 25 firms selected to represent Britain at the European Business Awards.
Admiral and a total of 395 companies across Europe – dubbed the “best of the best” –reached the first milestone in the competition.
However, the Group was unsuccessful in reaching the second stage and winning a ‘Ruban D’Honneur’ award.
Admiral faced competition from corporations across the UK and Europe, including the British Land Company and the Fairtrade Foundation.
The European Business Awards recognised the success of those companies selected as Country Representatives at a prestigious event held in London. Ceri Assiratti, Head of People Services attended the event to represent Admiral and to receive a certificate.
According to organisers, the awards are designed to “highlight and promote examples of individuals and organisations that achieve outstanding results across a variety of disciplines – from environmental concern to customer focus – results that set them apart as leaders in Europe.”
Over 3500 companies from 8 countries have been engaged with the Awards during the first stage and of these, 175 were selected as Country Representatives.
