| It's been impossible to ignore the buzz in the air and excited conversations over the past few days...'Did you go...wasn't it fantastic?!?' 'They looked beautiful...' praise not for the latest block buster movie or celeb wedding, but for the incredible fundraiser that was the Black Horse Asset Finance Fashion show. Photos of the night itself are available on the intranet (and if you haven't already take a look at your friends and colleagues strutting their stuff) but before the glitz, the glam, the models and the make up came a lot of hard work. The first fashion show meeting was held way back in January, and was very much a throwing together of ideas, being told what roles were available and of course the inevitable question …’Who’s going to model?!?' As well as models, there were sales team members (whose job it was to actually get those clothes we made you want to go out and buy!) dressers, ticket seller’s choreographers and team managers roles to be filled... The time from that first meeting to the night itself seemed to fly by, with numerous phone calls , shop visits and some pretty intense modelling rehearsals going on behind the scenes…….and then in no time the day itself had come. Those on site had an early start, moving numerous racks of clothes as well as setting up the lighting, music etc whilst the models were made over (it was all in the name of charity... honestly!!) then it was all wagons roll for a few final run through before it was finally time for the whole thing to come together. Whilst those 'out front' enjoyed the show, backstage was a frantic hive of clothes (both on people...on hangers and pretty much everywhere!) people and a lot of very good organisation. The professional catwalk show you all saw could not have happened without the team who made sure we were wearing the right things, walking out in the right order and still having fun (and we were as anyone who caught a glimpse of us dancing in the wings would tell you!!) By the end of the night £3000 had been raised, voices were hoarse from cheering us on and we only had one thing left to say......"when are we going to do this again?!?" I have been asked if we’re planning another one because so many of our colleagues missed out...well… you’ll have to watch this space..! I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to - Emily Morgan & Helen Gray for providing tans (the men loved it), No ID Studio for stepping in at the last minute and doing hair and make-up, Red Dragon for comparing the event, June Crichton & Graham Isle for photography, Sleeperz Hotel for back stage refreshments and not forgetting the many storing for allowing us the use of their clothes….Tesco, George @ Asda, Hudson & Hudson, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Slater Menswear, Next, Newlook, QS and High & Mighty. |
