Bruce Lee's Mumbles

| The increasingly popular Admiral Mumbles Mostly Jazz and Blues Festival was held on the early May Bank Holiday weekend and might have included a very surprising guest if Ben Moriarty had his way. Ben is part of the Swansea Admiral Recruitment Team and was fortunate enough to have been asked to compere the sold-out Saturday night gig with Albert Lee and his Grammy Award-winning band, Hogan's Heroes. Ben tells us about his night of fame... On the Saturday. The festival's biggest night, I arrived half an hour early to make sure I could get settled and meet the band. Since I'd be introducing them, I thought it would be a good idea if I were to know a little bit about them! The Marquee soon started to fill up and before I knew it, it was at its 500-person capacity. All the hard core Jazz fans were out in force. 8pm came and it was time for me to introduce the first band without a hitch, so I then headed to the food stand where I had the BBQ stilton cheeseburger and a tipple of red wine - beautiful! I also did a little interview with Swansea Bay Radio to tell them about how proud Admiral is to sponsor such an event within the community. It was soon time for the main act, Albert Lee. As I got on stage I had a horrible feeling I was going to stumble on my words and introduce the world famous Albert Hall or the legendary Bruce Lee! The crowd was glaring at me to get on with it! "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and now the moment you've all been waiting for. Put you hands together for the world famous... the world famous..." Brain freeze, I'd forgotten his name! All I could think of was not saying Albert hall or Bruce Lee, so I had to revert to my programme. After much rummaging and what seemed like hours, I found it and introduced the world famous Albert Lee! The audience gave a big round of applause and thankfully the band came on stage and stole the show. Apart from my little hiccup at the end, the evening was a massive success. The bands were amazing and the audience really enjoyed themselves. The organisers couldn't have been more grateful and members said how lucky they are to have a company like Admiral that is willing to contribute towards events in the community. Bring on next year!
