Pirate Party

The very excited and dressed to impress partygoers were greeted at the entrance by a group of pirate paparazzi eager for pictures, but that was only if they could get past the stilt walkers and scurvy crew first. After being presented with pirate maps containing vouchers for free food and drink, and the all important pirate postcard which would give them a chance to win in the treasure dig. Wandering around with your free Mojito cocktail, it was obvious that there was more than enough to keep everyone happy. You could take a ride on Swingin' in the Riggin', enjoy a pint of real ale and delicious tucker in the Jolly Roger Tavern, or dance the night away on the Black Pearl dance floor.

The party started to get into full swing with a breathtaking aerial performance from No Fit State Circus hanging high above the arena. After a short break The UK Beach Boys took the stage and skilfully worked their way through all of the surfing classics and had plenty of people dancing and singing along. Then came the reason for the postcard mentioned earlier - the treasure dig! Names were drawn out of the pirate chest and people came up to dig for treasure which included £2,000 worth of holiday vouchers and a Sugababes goodie bag. The only problem was that some of the treasure had been buried a little bit too deep but it was found in the end!

Then came the highlight of the Party with the DJ having whipped everyone into a frenzy, chart-topping superstars the Sugababes took to the stage. They worked their way through all their classics and some covers along the way with huge enthusiasm, as the crowd cheered and danced along. They even mentioned how much they loved everyone's pirate outfits. If people weren't tired enough already from dancing, the evening was brought to an end with the DJ playing tunes from throughout the decades. The night was a massive success and there must have been some very sore heads on Saturday morning.
