Three-year deal with the Welsh Rugby Union

Admiral announced even more exciting news in March when it also confirmed it would be Welsh rugby's new shirt sponsor.

Admiral has signed a three-year deal with the Welsh Rugby Union to be the new shirt sponsor. The national team will wear the new shirt from November, although replica shirts will be available from September.

The Admiral name will be emblazoned across the chest of the national rugby team as they take on the likes South Africa and New Zealand in the autumn internationals.

The deal was announced as Wales took on Italy at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in their final game of the 2010 Six Nations, winning 33-10.
Admiral are working with the WRU to develop a new shirt design and our logo will also appear on Wales training shirts, shorts, and some leisure wear, as well as a range of children's rugby kit.

The sponsorship, led by the Marketing department is a first for Admiral. Head of Marketing, Charlotte Bennett said, “This is the first time Admiral has entered into sport sponsorship, but as a proud Welsh company there is no one better for us to sponsor than the Welsh national team.

"We look forward to a successful partnership with the WRU and the benefits we will see from our association with them. And I'm sure we'll all be thrilled to see the Admiral logo on the new team kit."

CEO Henry Engelhardt said, " As someone who has come to live in Wales from another country, I have become aware of the iconic status the Welsh national team has with the people of Wales.

“We are proud to be a successful Welsh company, which has taken what it does best to the rest of the world."

WRU group chief executive Roger Lewis said: "We are delighted to be forging a new partnership with a brand which rightly enjoys an international reputation for commercial success twinned with being a great employer.

"Wales is one of the top nations in world rugby and it is important that we forge commercial relationships with brands that mirror that status.”
