Ten things about British Gas

Our people count...

  1. British Gas offers fantastic career opportunities with generous salaries and a fantastic flexible benefits scheme - where you get to chose from a whole host of added extras from dental cover to shopping vouchers.
  2. We're committed to providing our people with the best possible working environment - early next year we're relocating to Callaghan Square, situated right at the heart of the City Centre and next to the train station, making the journey from train to office only 2-3 minutes by foot.
  3. The new purpose-built office will be a stone's throw from the St. David's Shopping Centre which will provide Cardiff with one of the UK's largest shopping centres.

We're part of our local community...

  1. Our people choose the local charity they wish to support and every year work hard to raise money through different activities and events.
  2. We enjoy supporting our local community and we're committed to developing and helping them through various projects - we recently created a brand new outdoor teaching and learning area for a local primary school.

We're taking the lead on saving energy...

  1. British Gas 'Green Streets' project is Britain's biggest ever energy saving challenge, with 8 streets across the UK battling it out to reduce their CO2 emissions.
Generation Green is our fantastic new community programme helping school children and teachers tackle climate change by adopting green behaviours and actions and rewarding them for their efforts.
For a bright idea on how to save electricity and save energy in our customer's homes, we recently sent everyone 4 free energy saving lightbulbs.

We're serious about the future...

  1. Fifty-four turbines will be installed over the next two years. Once completed, the £300 million project will be capable of powering around 130,000 homes.
For every pound we make, we spend £2 securing new supplies for the future.
