Debra Shaw: Supporting Graduate Careers

Both our Financial Services and Data/AI Graduate Programmes have a fantastic track record when it comes to supporting graduates into permanent roles across the sector.

Programme Liaison Manager, Debra Shaw works closely with all our graduates throughout their time on the programme to ensure they’re developing personally and professionally. This involves one-to-one coaching sessions, tailored CV advice and supporting graduates ahead of interviews.

As the 2019-2021 Financial Services Programme came to an end in September, Deb reflects on her experience with the Graduates…

“The additional employability support we provide graduates is both unique and extremely valuable and so it’s been great to see so many of our Financial Services Graduates engage with this and then successfully apply what we’ve talked about in application processes and interviews.

So many of our graduates have stayed within our Consortium group because of the excellent support and jobs they receive from these employers.

Although our Graduates only finished recently, most of them are already working in permanent positions and I am confident that we will hit our target of almost 100% of the graduates in work for another year.

The graduates have obtained roles in many different aspects of finance, and some have also achieved manager roles in other industries which is testament to how much they’ve developed during their time on the Programme. Some of the job roles we’ve seen Graduates secure include:

  • Business Analyst
  • Social Media Consultant
  • Finance Analyst
  • Project Management
  • HR Services

It’s been a pleasure working with our 2019-2021 group of graduates and I am certain we will keep in touch as their careers continue to excel.”

Thanks Deb! We wish all our graduates every success in their careers.

As well as supporting Graduates on all things career related, Deb has also become a mental health first-aider so is equipped to help with any mental health and emotional needs.
