We’re almost at the end of the Fast Track Data/AI recruitment campaign and once again we’ve been hugely impressed with the calibre of applicants.
With almost 300 applications in total, we’ve shortlisted 50 talented STEM graduates to attend the upcoming assessment centres in August, 24% of which are Welsh graduates. Our passion has always been to attract and retain top talent here in Wales so it’s fantastic that such a high number of applicants are choosing a career path here.
The recruitment process has been overseen by Holly Reid our Programme Coordinator, who has worked closely with our external recruitment consultant, Neil Lewis. Together they’ve done a brilliant job of attracting lots of fantastic talent and keeping engaged with candidates throughout a fairly lengthy process.
One of our main drivers behind the programme is to attract people of all backgrounds to a career in STEM. We’ve worked closely with universities, industry and utilising social media to raise awareness of the opportunity within many communities. We are pleased that 25% of overall applicants were female and 60% came from BAME candidates.
In the coming weeks we will be hosting multiple workshops for our shortlisted candidates which are designed to give them the best opportunity ahead of the assessment centres. These virtual sessions are a great opportunity to for graduates to ask questions as well as hear from our alumni who will share their own experiences of being on the programme.
Our aim is for all candidates to feel fully confident and able to best showcase themselves on the day so highly recommend they attend these workshops.
We have three assessment centres scheduled in August and would like to thank everyone who has volunteered to support them.
We look forward to updating you in the next newsletter.
