This unique combination of part-time post-graduate study combined with three work placements across leading employers, where graduates can apply their learning, has proven to be highly successful.
Over the years we have continued to develop and enhance the Programme’s to ensure they meet the needs of our employer consortium, taking into account future skills requirements, changing demands and market trends.
In the latter half of 2020 we consulted with the consortium and graduates to review the current Financial Services Graduate Programme MSc curriculum, to ensure the Programme is progressive, innovative and ‘one of a kind’.
The response was extremely valuable, highlighting emerging trends that are influencing financial services such as data and Fintech. It was also identified that alongside the more traditional skills such as Financial Management and Analysis and Professional Behaviours, the inclusion of Strategy and Business Transformation would add value, particularly when thinking of the impact of the pandemic on businesses.
Following the consultation, we revised the curriculum for the proposed FSM Programme starting in September 2021 to include modules on Data and Fintech, as well as Strategy and Business Transformation. We want to continue to develop future programmes that create the necessary key skills for businesses to continue thriving in Wales, combatting skills shortages, and helping create a sustainable talent pipeline.
The cross over between tech and financial services is becoming increasing clear, with demand for tech professionals in the fintech and digital payments sector at an all-time high, Computer Weekly, January 2021
The changing technology landscape means newer, emerging skills are becoming paramount for organisations and that’s why it’s vital that we continue to adapt and evolve our Graduate Programme offering.
We are now 2 months into our inaugural Data/AI Fast Track Programme and the feedback from both graduates and employers is exceptional. A recent Graduate Survey has seen the highest scores since the launch of our programmes in 2013.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions about current or future programmes.
