Not many people would argue that 2020 has been the strangest of years.
Families, friends and businesses have been forced to live through a series of lockdowns and restrictions, limiting lives and businesses alike. No doubting 2020 will long be remembered for the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the vaccine begins its roll out and the longest of years comes to an end, businesses are starting to look beyond COVID-19 and into 2021.
“We’re excited for the year ahead and helping businesses bounce back next year” says Luke Davies, who joined My Digital Ego as Sales and Marketing Director in November, having left the AA after 10 years as Digital Marketing Manager. The new Cardiff based digital agency, who has a split operation with a dedicated back end support team in Macedonia, offer UK businesses affordable digital packages to drive ‘digital discoverability’.
Luke explains further: “My Digital Ego connects and develops brands digital footprint. We offer end to end management of social channels, search engine optimisation with content creation and onsite conversation. No matter the size or industry, businesses need to ensure they are digitally discoverable through search engines and social media.
“The consumer buying process is now often completely done digitally, from initial problem and need identification, evaluation and research phase, through to purchase and post purchase behaviour. It can, and often is all done from an iPhone. Businesses need to react to that more than ever in 2021”.
The business is owned by Dave Jones and Steve Jarrett, who have experience in outsourcing to Macedonia. They wanted to blend a local, Welsh based agency with a pool of flexible, talented support staff in Macedonia, offering the best of both worlds to clients. Steve explains the Macedonia connection – “we’ve been working in the Macedonia staffing market for a number of years – helping UK businesses grow with a range of near-shore, low-cost staffing and business solutions.
The ‘near shore’ approach and the associated cost benefits are clear. However, it’s the highly skilled workforce and quality of output, helped with an excellent level of English – both written and spoken – that has made this model work for us in the past. With only an hour time difference, it’s very well placed to support UK businesses.” Dave adds “our vision was to create an affordable digital offering to businesses who might have found marketing agencies too expensive, or feel they are overpaying for digital marketing expertise and support. We also have the ability to build websites and apps from scratch, so we’re offering a full range of digital services at a very attractive price point, without compromising on quality.”
Emilija Jovanoska, General Manager at My Digital Ego based in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia and one of the founding team members goes on to say: “our main goal was to make digital marketing accessible to everyone, and to guide businesses through this make-or-break digital environment by making them discoverable and stand out online within their industry.
“Having a meticulously selected a team of specialist developers and digital marketeers split between Macedonia and Cardiff we believe we’re in good position to achieve our goal and support businesses through a challenging but exciting year ahead.”
