Three New Businesses Join the Consortium

The launch of the FastTrack Data/AI Programme in January saw 3 new employers join our impressive employer consortium.

SA Global, Skillcert and Indigo Telecom Group are the newest businesses to join the programme alongside Admiral, Amber Energy, Atradius, Confused.com, Optimum Credit, Vauxhall Finance and Principality Building Society.

It’s fantastic to see that employers are prioritising data driven skills and see the value of supporting the careers of top STEM talent.

We wanted to give you an opportunity to get to know the newest members of our consortium, understand their business and find out why they wanted to join the Programme.

SkillCert are a specialist training provider delivering high quality apprenticeships, offender management, employability programmes and bespoke training solutions to individuals and employers across England and Wales.

“When we heard about the Fast-Track programme, we were keen to get involved and provide an opportunity for a graduate to build on their experience and put what they have learnt into practice in a business setting.

As a result of covid-19 Skillcert have seen a shift in the way we deliver our training and an increase in demand for online learning. This had led to the development of a brand-new learning & development portal.  This project provided an ideal opportunity for Kieran Hunt to join the team through the Data Science and Analytics Graduate Programme.

Kieran will take an active role in the development of our new learning and development portal which will be utilised as an online tool to improve the procurement of new clients and connect them with high quality training providers. Additionally, the portal will promote efficiencies within our supply chain. Specifically, suppling our national clients with solutions for all of their training needs.  Kieran will also contribute to the development of a data driven information management system, data collection and data utilisation for marketing and forecasting purposes.” Says Steffan Edwards, Managing Director of Skillcert.

“I have really enjoyed the placement so far and have been welcomed into the team. I have learnt a huge amount in the first 2 months, not only in the data science field but also the professional business skills. With my data science knowledge growing, I can clearly see how Skillcert will benefit from applying a data driven approach to its business. I am looking forward to the next 6 months and I am hoping to positively impact Skillcert and grow my skills as a data scientist and professional.” – Kieran Hunt, Data Science Graduate, Skillcert

Becoming a partner in the consortium further supports our desire to embed ourselves further into the local business community.” Says Simon Drinkwater, Head of HR at sa.global.

Data science will be key to this mission!” says Cerys Kingston, Business Funding Executive at Indigo TG.

We’re delighted to be working with another three forward thinking businesses here in Wales and look forward to seeing our Graduate’s grow and develop.
