Vauxhall Finance shows its commitment to employee wellbeing whilst remote working

Vauxhall Finance, the captive finance partner to Vauxhall based in Parc Nantgarw, ran a thriving Employee Wellbeing programme prior to lockdown, with a weekly series of yoga classes, badminton, photography, meditation and a book club.

When lockdown began the Wellbeing group quickly turned many of these sessions virtual and now offers two virtual yoga sessions and two meditation classes per week, with a lively virtual book club once a month.

The Wellbeing team has kept colleagues motivated and engaged in their health and wellbeing whilst remote working with regular e-shots and trialled some new employee-led ideas such as cookery classes and quiz nights.

The vision of Vauxhall Finance Wellbeing is: to promote a supportive and healthy work environment and to bring more happiness into the workplace.

Sue Gunning, HR Director for Vauxhall Finance, says: “Even before COVID-19 our world was shifting online, but now in the current situation it has become virtual even faster. As we move into this new era of agile working it is important that we continue to provide new and innovative ways to support our employees’ health and wellbeing. Providing virtual yoga classes is just one part of our Wellbeing strategy and an excellent way to connect with other work colleagues, and to keep fit.”
